Lucy Betteridge-Dyson is a historian, author and broadcaster, with a particular interest in the First World War along with the Southeast Asian theatre of the Second World War.

An enthusiastic public speaker, she is passionate about engaging a wider audience with military history, and has worked in both television and radio, having co-presented the Channel 4 series ’48 Hours to Victory’, BBC Sounds podcast ‘Obsessed With…SAS Rogue Heroes’ and contributed to numerous television shows, podcasts and online platforms including ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ and ‘We Have Ways of Making You Talk’.

She was awarded a distinction for her MA research focusing on the experience and use of horses and mules in the British Expeditionary Force during the First World War and, as lifelong horsewoman, is passionate about Animal, as well as Military History.

Lucy works as a researcher for vintage aviation specialists Retrotec & Aerovintage and her forthcoming book on 3 Commando Brigade operations in the Far East during the Second World War is due for release in 2025, with Osprey Publishing.
